It’s generally a good idea to keep the higher levels of merge chains in storage for easy task fulfillment in the future.

Merging the entire chain for piggy banks significantly increases yield.

Try to merge brown and blue chests before opening them for much better rewards.

It is worth it to get higher merges as opposed to keeping several smaller merge levels when mining for items because higher merge levels yield: Higher level items, increased taps, and lesser wait times.

For example: I suddenly opened up the Romantic Spot area when I finished the 11th merge in the Love Story chain, despite not having increased in player level.

If you are running out of tasks to complete, focus on finishing out merge chains.
